My new HP735 camera is nice but I'm concerned that it only outputs
jpeg files. Should I be concerned?

Also, my dog has brown eyes and the flash gives me pictures with
white-eye instead of red-eye. The red-eye removal tool doesn't work
on fixing white-eye. What to do?

nothing wrong with JPG unless you serious about digital photography...
are you? if you are, you would've bought a camera from a real camera
manufacturer, like Olympus, Nikon, Fuji, Pentax etc...
HP's cameras are ok, theyre designed to be simple to use for the average
consumer..
they're not as manual at all as other cheaper cameras from Nikon or Olympus
etc...

Whilst nonchalantly flicking through alt.comp.periphs.dcameras on

You should have no problems with jpeg, a lot of high ended cameras output in
it. Remember though, if you set your camera to higher quality output there
will be less if not no compression and hence larger files.

Red Eye removal tool in what application? I use Paint Shop Pro 8 which has
Red Eye removal, you select the pupil then select the colour pupil you want
to replace it with plus a few tweaks for glint, pupil size etc., the
original colour is irrelevant. There are two types of correction with it,
one for humans, one for animals as they reflect light differently and are
slightly different colours....black or brown. Many photo editors have
similar features.
